Aloy needs to keep herself safe while she wanders the wilds of Horizon: Forbidden West. Here is the best armour she can get early in the game.
In Horizon: Forbidden West, players fight both human enemies and huge robot animals in order to save the Earth from being destroyed. The same robots that were once used to save nature are now destroying it, and Aloy is the only woman who can stop it.
Each enemy a player faces has its own weapons that can hurt the player in different ways, such as with acid, shock, or straight-up physical damage. While wandering, players can find different armours that not only protect them better from certain things, but also make Aloy’s skills better. This is very important at the beginning of the game, so these are the armours that players should try to get as soon as possible.
Utaru Harvester
This could be the first outfit that players get, since they can only buy it from Plainsong, Scalding Spear, or The Bulwark. Near the beginning of the game, players will want to look for the items needed to make this armour.
As an infiltrator set, the Utaru Harvester will help a player improve their stealth skills. This is because this outfit makes the player less visible to enemies and makes long stealth attacks do more damage. Only enemies that hit with shock damage need to be watched out for, as this is its biggest weakness.
Nora Huntress
Some players may have noticed that the Nora huntress dress in Horizon: Forbidden West is actually Aloy’s original outfit from Horizon: Zero Dawn. In this new game, the outfit has been changed so that Aloy can sneak up on her enemies and get the upper hand. As early as Chainscrape or Barren Light, you can buy it.
Nora Huntress gives the best buffs while in stealth, just like Utaru Harvester gear. Using a Silent Strike will heal the player and make them less visible at the same time. But it is weak against many things, so a player must stay quiet if they want to stay alive.
Carja Wanderer
Players can try out different ways to play Horizon: Forbidden West. This can be improved by different kinds of armour, like the Carja Wanderer gear for the trapper class. This set of Carja clothes makes traps more useful, in this case by making it easier to set them up quickly. It also makes it so that the player’s own traps do less damage to them.
The player’s health also gets a small boost, making them stronger if they get into a fight. If a player has the right means, they can buy this gear at either Scalding Spear or The Bulwark.
Oseram Explorer
Most of the time in the game, the player is told to focus on the bow. There is, however, armour for people who want to get their hands dirty. Early on in the game, players should look in Chainscrape or Barren Light for the Oseram Explorer, a piece of fighter gear that will make their spear stronger.
This big thing makes critical hits and power attacks do more damage and makes it much harder for close attacks to hit it back. It can’t defend against strikes from elements because of this, so it’s not a good choice against most machines.
Carja Shadow
Even though the armour is called Carja Shadow, it is designed to help you stay alive, not to help you sneak around. This set of armour can be found in Plainsong and Scalding Spear. It is meant to help players who have trouble avoiding hits that could kill them.
Even when the player is in a critical state from not having enough life. The Carja Shadow armour makes them stronger. It’s also a great set for eating berries, since it makes all of their healing effects stronger and heals the player faster. Even though it can’t fight any elements, the Carja Shadow is still a great choice for a starting pet.
Nora Champion
Players don’t have to buy the Nora Champion gear, unlike some of the other sets on this list. Instead, they will have to finish an early side quest in The Bristlebacks to get it. The player will get this beginning infiltrator armour once they have done this. Again, this set is good for people who want to fight from a distance without being seen. With this armour on, stealth hits from a distance will do more damage.
On top of that, it makes Aloy more focused, so she can keep her bow in place for longer. Even though it may not be very good, it is a great way for a player to start their sneak journey until they find something better.
Nora Anointed
Unsurprisingly, Aloy starts with one of the best sets of armour at the beginning of Spacebar Clicker game. The Nora Anointed armour has good stats all around, so it has everything a player needs to stay alive.
This gear not only protects Aloy well, but it also has some good buffs. Such as letting the player heal for more and faster and making them more focused. Because it has great acid protection, the first few hours of the game will be easy. Since many machines will try to hurt the player with acid damage.
Nora Sentinel
In Horizon: Forbidden West, the Nora Anointed’s starting gear is a set. That players can keep wearing for a long time. The Nora Sentinel gear, on the other hand, can do what that armour does even better. You can find it as soon as Barren Light.
Even though it doesn’t heal as well as the other set, Aloy can use this set to attack both machine and human enemies because it gives her more resistance and boosts her focus and stamina. The only element that players should really try to stay away from is acid. Because this armour is very weak against it.
