Author Info: The author, Narayan Prasad, is a retired engineer. Born on 15 April 1955, in Nalanda district of Bihar, he received his education up to college level through Hindi medium and technical education through English medium. His mother tongue is Magahi. He has published four books – (1) one English translation from Russian (2) three Magahi translations – one from Kannada and two from Russian. For the translation of Lermontov’s work “Geroy Nashego Vremeni” (A Hero of Our Time), he was awarded “Lermontov Medal” in 2019. Considering the importance of Dostoevsky’s world famous novel “Prestuplenie i Nakazanie” (Crime and Punishment), he has also translated this work into Magahi. He has already translated into Magahi many other Russian classical works of various authors that await publication. The author has published many articles on Sanskrit grammar Hindu Astronomy etc.
