- 1/ After getting the seeds, first dry them in the sun for 10-15 minutes.
- 2/ Soak the seeds in water for 12-24 hours before planting.
- 3/ Prepare the soil: Papaya plants prefer well-draining soil rich in organic matter. Mix some compost or well-rotted manure into the soil to enrich it.
- 4/ Plant the seeds: Plant the seeds about 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep in the soil and water well.
- Provide warmth: Papaya plants need warm temperatures to germinate, so keep the pot in a warm spot, ideally 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 29°C).
- Water regularly: Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and make sure the pot has good drainage.
- Plant the seedlings: When the seedlings are about 6 inches tall, plant them in large pots or in the ground.
- Provide regular care: Papaya plants need regular watering, fertilizing and pruning to grow well. Fertilize every two to three months with a balanced fertilizer and prune off any dead or damaged leaves to promote growth.
