Author Info: Dr. R.K. Bansal has been working as Lecturer in Economics at Punjabi University, Patiala, since 1976. Apart from teaching Honours School and M.A. classes in the Universityâs Department of Economics, he has participated in a number of research projects handled by the Department. His earlier book entitled Economic Aspects of Sales Tax attracted conside¬rable notice in the academic field. His current research is directed towards assessing potentials of resource mobilisation in the States of which the present study is a part.
