Bangladesh has been enduring the trial issue of the war-criminals like a tumour. 42 years have passed since our Liberation war. The nation did not let the history of bloodshed and unbearable miseries of millions of martyrs and tortured women perish into oblivion. Today Shahbag is determined to pay back the debt of this immeasurable loss, to free our motherland from the evil grasp of Rajakars, the betrayers who assisted Pakistani army in their heinous oppression against us. Millions of mass Bangladeshis have gathered there, at Shahbag- no, not to moan but to demand the highest form of punishment for these traitors. The fire that sparked in Shahbag on this single objective, has spread everywhere like a bonfire. As the war in 71’ wasn’t limited to firearms and permeated in our poems and lyrics, 13’ also has given birth to songs from slogans. Like the slogans, these songs also speak not only of injustice suffered from the hands of the blood-thirsty collaborators of 71’, but also of the unquenchable aspiration for a beautiful Bangladesh for tomorrow. We have accumulated some of these songs in this album- songs that are progenies of Shahbag awakening. We hope, this album will be a messenger of the light of 71’ and ‘13.
