Author Info: Amit Jha, senior reader in Sri Aurobindo College, New Delhi, started his career as a lecturer in this college. He did graduation and postgraduation from Hans Raj College, Delhi University (North Campus). He also obtained his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in History from there. Mr. Jha has worked on various projects of the U.G.C. including several major research projects, namely Viharas in Early Medieval Eastern India; Contemporary Religious Institutions in Eastern India: A Case Study of the Tribals Region in the State of Jharkhand; Traditional Knowledge System in India and Traditional Indian Medicine: A Study of Buddhist & Tribal Medicine. He has published many articles in international journals, some of which are also available online on their websites.
