Blackwater

Family, Friendly Places To Visit In Blackwater.

Blackwater is a beautiful place to visit, and there are many places to explore. One of my favorite things to do in Blackwater is take a walk down the River Walk at dusk. It’s so peaceful at night and there are tons of restaurants nearby for dinner! If you want something else fun to do with your family, try exploring the parks around Bay or going on one of my favorite excursions – Jetty Fishing!

The Blackwater Gorge

The Blackwater Gorge is a beautiful place to visit in the summertime. It’s also a great place for family activities and fun, especially with kids!

The Blackwater Gorge is located right next to the Blackwater River, which flows through the area. There are many different activities you can do at this location. You can go hiking through trails or on horseback if you like horses too; there’s also camping available as well as kayaking if you’re into that sort of thing (Kayak rentals are available). If it’s too hot outside then there are water slides at the nearby Splash Lagoon where people can cool off in their own way!

Historical places to visit in Blackwater

The Blackwater Valley Museum is an interactive, hands-on museum that tells the history of the area and its people. You can learn about local Native American tribes and their lives in the valley, see historical photographs and artifacts, or take a tour of an antique fire engine. The museum is open from May to October Monday through Saturday 10 am–5 pm; Sunday noon–5 pm; closed on major holidays.

The Blackwater Valley Railroad Museum features trains—both real ones as well as replicas—that were used to carry coal during its heyday when it was an important transportation hub on Route 66 between Chicago and Los Angeles. The museum is open year-round except Christmas Eve & New Year’s Day from 9 A. M . – 5 P. M.

Adventure Centers and Gyms

The Blackwater Adventure Center is a full-service adventure center that offers a wide range of activities for adults and children. Located in the heart of Blackwater, you’ll find everything you need to make your next family outing one to remember.

The adventure center offers rentals and sales on rafts, canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards (SUP). They have special events throughout the year like summer camps; live music performances at their outdoor amphitheater; birthday parties; family reunions; wedding receptions and other private events held on their grounds. These events are open to all ages so there’s no need to worry about booking ahead!

The Blackwater Valley Nature Center

The Blackwater Valley Nature Center is a great place to visit. It has many activities for children and adults alike, including an outdoor classroom, guided tours, and plenty of opportunities for interaction with nature.

This center is known for its educational programs that teach visitors about wildlife as well as their environment. Children can learn about animals like the white-tailed deer or opossum in their habitats at the Nature Center’s Education Center. Adults can also enjoy learning about these creatures through interactive exhibits and hands-on activities such as feeding live turtles or helping out at their rescue center for injured wildlife.

The center offers educational programs, including nature hikes and family fun days. You can also visit the museum, which features exhibits about local history, as well as a library where you can borrow books about Blackwater Valley history!

If you’re more interested in outdoor activities than museums or public parks but still want an enjoyable day outdoors with your family then check out Blackwater Valley Historical Society’s annual festival fundraiser held each year in November (or earlier if there’s snow on the ground). This event includes live music performances from local artists along with food vendors serving tacos from El Rancho Taqueria & Cantina & plenty more fun stuff happening at this event throughout downtown Blackwater Valley!
