For just $30, you’ll get a picnic basket loaded with tasty food and snacks that’s enough to feed two people. Bring a cozy blanket and soak up the gorgeous Prairie scenery as you dine al fresco surrounded by rustling trees and the cheerful sounds of nature.

After your picnic lunch, take some time to explore the grounds and all the delightful activities they have to offer. Visit the resident farm animals, from gentle horses and cows to cuddly bunnies and chicks. You can also get delightfully turned around in the Lost Corral maze, challenge your family to lawn games, or go for a peaceful stroll along the country trails. With baskets available from May 20th to August 16th on weekdays only, it’s the perfect budget-friendly outing.

Steak Pitchfork Fondue (June 22nd, 2024)

For a wildly entertaining evening, don’t miss the Steak Pitchfork Fondue Dinner Theatre at Champetre County on June 22nd. This $75 performance will have you doubled over with laughter one minute, then tapping your toes to knee-slapping music the next!

Presented in partnership with the Free Flow Dance Centre, the Wild West Follies features the crème-de-la-crème of local entertainers performing comedy sketches, dance numbers, musical acts and all sorts of other wacky routines promising a rip-roaring good time.

But before the show gets underway, you’ll be treated to a hearty steak fondue dinner that’s cooked right at your table. Deliciously sizzling all night long! The evening kicks off at 5pm with cocktail hour, followed by dinner and the show from 7-8pm. Then, you can cozy around the roaring campfire from 8:30-11pm to wind down the night.

Spring Farmers Market (June 22nd, 2024)

Also happening on June 22nd is the annual Spring Farmers Market held on the grounds of the historic St. Isidore Homestead at Champetre County. From 11am to 6pm, browse all sorts of fresh local produce, baked goods, crafts and other wares from Saskatchewan farmers, growers and artisans.

The farmers market offers the perfect opportunity to stock up on seasonal fruits and veggies, or to find that unique gift or home decor item. Afterward, stick around to enjoy the rest of Champetre County’s amenities which will all be open including the animal barn, Lost Corral maze, lawn games and more! The onsite canteen will also be serving up tasty food and drinks for purchase.

Donny Parenteau Barn Dance (July 27th, 2024)

Kick up your heels at this lively $35 barn dance featuring Donny Parenteau, an acclaimed Metis country music artist hailing from Prince Albert. Playing the fiddle and guitar with endless energy, Donny will have you dancing the night away to his award-winning tunes on July 27th, 2024.

Donny has an impressive musical resume that includes spending 12 years touring globally and recording multi-platinum albums with country star Neal McCoy. He’s shared the stage with greats like Charlie Daniels, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain and Reba McEntire, among others. Backed by his full band, Donny promises a truly entertaining show you won’t soon forget!

The festivities get started at 5pm with the opening of the canteen and bar. Then from 7-11pm, you can dance the night away before cozying around the crackling campfire. There will also be chances to visit the animals, explore the maze and more.

Johner Brothers Barn Dance (August 24, 2024)

Wrapping up this summer’s standout Saskatoon events is the hugely anticipated Johner Brothers comeback show on August 24th, 2024. After a 20 year hiatus, these Canadian country music icons are reuniting along with Brad Johner’s three sons who will be backing them on stage.

In the 1990s, Brad and Ken Johner were at the peak of their fame, being named Duo of the Year by the Canadian Country Music Association and going on to win Entertainer of the Decade honors. Known for being true professionals and gentlemen, their shows were always a big hit. Now fans can relive those glory days and discover some fresh new sounds when the band takes to the Champetre County stage on August 24th, 2024.

Tickets are $35 and the schedule will be similar to the Donny Parenteau barn dance, with the venue opening at 5pm with the opening of the canteen and bar followed by dance from 7-11pm and a cozy campfire to close out the night. It’s sure to be an unforgettable show!
